Ruby Rochelle and her scarlet ibis, D.V. Cam, patrol the streets of the big fishing town, Astaliara. Ruby works for an organization known to the town as Shadow Fire. The townspeople often fear these agents because of their battle strategies and skilled assassinations. The story is set in 2037, starships rule the skies and wealth is reserved to those who are royalty, highly respected or work for SF.
